Our daughter, Rachel's beaming face at her graduation from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in Psychology emphasis in chemical dependency. She did it! We're so proud of her. It's been a long time coming, with lots of changes in her life, but for a single mom raising 2 beautiful children..... not bad! If you can dream, you can achieve...
Daniel has proposed to the girl of his dreams... Monica Horn, a fellow student at BYU_Idaho. Here's the happy couple. They will be married August 21st in the Oakland, CA. temple.
The engaged couple....April of 1980. The Arizona cowboy and the Texas suburban girl. Here's a photo I came across since Christmas 2008, after my daughter, Laura, scanned hundreds of my old negatives into my computer for our Christmas gift. Wow, what a great gift that was! She spent many, many hours scanning many, many negatives. My deepest gratitude to you, Laura!
1. My number one is the same as my daughter, Laura's, guess it runs in the genes! I add things to my "to do" list after I've done them just so I can cross them off right after I write it...do I need a few more pats on the back, or just a completely full log of exactly what I accomplished each week?
2. I can't sleep unless it is pitch dark. No computer screens left on, no numbers on the alarm clock pointing my direction, blinds shut to block out street lights. Need I go on? If you need to sleep with a night light, don't plan on sleeping in the same room as me!
3. I have a hard time concentrating when reading, unless it is totally quiet. Even then if it is too quiet I doze off. (can't win) If there is any distraction, my mind automatically wanders over to it. If I am reading something important (scriptures, studying for a test etc) I usually end up reading the same paragraph 2-3 times before it sinks in! That's why my Good Reads completed book list is NOT very long. One of my New Year's resolutions every year is to read more ...again.
4. I sing to songs in the car when no one is with me (my favorite is to harmonize) and sometimes I even dance to my 70's music when it's turned up loud and I'm all alone at home! Woo Hoo! Funny sight.
5. I really love stormy weather, rain, lightening and thunder. Really different clouds fascinate me as well as watching the wind blow the leaves on trees.
6. Last but not least, I am told I get a little goofy when I'm extremely tired. :P I can think of many more, but will end here!
My children are tutoring me to create and maintain a blog. After months of neglect, I'm making the attempt and getting the hang of it a little at a time! I hope to create some memories for family and friends to enjoy.
